We live in dangerous times and there is a great need to keep our children safe from the dangers that prey on them.

Our children are God’s gift to us and He holds us responsible for their safety.

As innocent as they are, they believe in everything, and are thus open to every possibility. We must do them the greatest good by giving them not only physical cover, but also a spiritual and mental one.

Apart from leading them in prayer, we must dedicate ourselves to praying for them frequently, praying for their safety, their associations, and their growth.

Simple Children’s Prayers For Protection

“Dearest Heavenly Father, I thank you for these wonderful gifts of the children that you have given me whom I love so much. I ask, dear Lord, that you will keep them safe from evil today and always. Protect them from the dangers that seek to prey on their innocence and ignorance. As you go about their routine, let Your Spirit be with them to protect them and to remind them that you are with them always. Help them to trust you as their Source for everything, and empower them to be able to know what to do when the need arises, in Jesus name, Amen.”

“Father, as my children grow towards the great destiny you have in store for them, Lord keep them safe. Protect them from the wickedness of the age they live in. Give them the Spirit of wisdom, discernment, and strength to do the right thing, at the right time, in the right place. Deliver them from the negative mental, emotional, and physical influence of the the media, their friends, or any other means the enemy tries to use against them. I declare that my children shall grow in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and men, in Jesus name, Amen.”

Prayer To Protect My Child From Evil

“Father God, I lift up my child into your hands. This is your heritage with which you have chosen to trust me. Therefore, Lord, I ask today that you will protect him (indicate child’s sex) from evil today.

Your word has promised me that no harm will overtake me. No disaster will come near my home. You said that you will command your angels concerning me and all that belongs to me to keep watch over us in all our ways; they will lift us up in their hands, so that we do not strike our foot against a stone. You have also said that you will never leave us nor forsake us. Therefore, I stand upon these promises for my child. Divert the evils aimed at him. Cover him under the shadow of your wings at all times, and shield him from all the vices of this age that corrupts and destroys, in Jesus name, Amen.”

“Father, your name is a strong tower wherein we can find safety. I hereby declare the name of Jesus over my child. I declare that my child is protected from all evils. My child is protected from internal and external negative influences by the power in the name of Jesus.

Father, you promise that you are able to keep all who are entrusted to you. I am entrusting the life and soul of my child into your hands. Dearest Lord, let him be conscious of your presence not just around him but also within him. Let him know that he belongs to you, and thus is safe in your light. Make him a bright shining light breaking through the darkness of evil without being corrupted by it in a crooked and perverse generation, in Jesus name, Amen.”

Prayer For Protection For Newborn Baby

“Dear Father, isn’t it amazing that you looked upon me, and chose to bless me with this great gift of a child. No one on earth could give me this kind of gift that you have given me. I glorify you for this precious baby.

Lord, you have used me to bring this baby into the world. Just like Moses’ parents, Lord help me to see how beautiful it is and to give myself to both appreciate and nurture it after your desire and not mine. I plead the Blood of Jesus over this child for protection from sickness, diseases, death, and the dangers of this world. You promised me that because of the Blood, dangers will pass over and we will be healed. I fortify my household from satanic influence for accidents or affliction.

My baby will be healthy and strong. He/she will grow in sound health, in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and with men, in Jesus name, Amen.”

Catholic Prayer For Child Protection

Catholic prayers are very powerful prayers too, and we are not leaving them out.

Here are a few Catholic prayers for the protection of your child that can be found in the Catholic Book of Blessings.

ONE

(As circumstances suggest, the parents may trace the sign of the cross on their children’s forehead; they then say the prayer of blessing)

“Father, inexhaustible source of life and author of all good, I bless you and thank you for brightening my communion of love by your gift of children. Grant that my child (children) will find in the life of this family such inspiration that he/she will strive always for what is right and good and one day, by your grace, reach their (his/her) home in heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

TWO

(Don’t forget to may trace the sign of the cross on their children’s forehead; then say this prayer)

“O Heavenly Father, I commend my children to Thy care. Be Thou their God and Father; and mercifully supply whatever is lacking in me through frailty or negligence. Strengthen them to overcome the corruptions of the world, whether from within or without; and deliver them from the secret snares of the enemy. Pour Thy grace into their hearts, and strengthen and multiply in them the gifts of Thy Holy Spirit, that they may daily grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; and so, faithfully serving Thee here, may come to rejoice in Thy presence hereafter. Amen.”

Spiritual Warfare For My Child

Parenting does not only require being able to watch over your child physically, but being able to rise to any challenge that may threaten them spiritually. This is why each parent must be sound spiritually.

The Bible has said in 2Corithians 10:4 that, The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

Nehemiah 4:14, talking about what we should do, adds this: After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”

Hence, as a parent, it is your responsibility to “fight” for the destiny and wellbeing of your child and your entire family.

Here is a prayer of spiritual warfare that you can pray over your child or children.

“Father, thank you for my child and my family. I thank you for the grace to be in a position where I can decree your purpose through prayer and be sure it will come to pass. I have confidence that whatever I bind on earth is bound in heaven, and whatever I loose on earth is loosed in heaven. I am convinced that the greater one lives in me and I will not fear what the enemy can do to my family or me.

I lift up my child in prayers right now. I command every onslaught of the enemy against him in any way to fail. The Bible says no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment, I shall condemn. Therefore, I decree today: no weapon formed against my child shall prosper. I condemn any utterance meant to bring them down. My child shall live and not die. He shall not be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He will not be caught in wrong company.

I shield is heart and his mind by the Blood of Jesus from every demonic manipulation. I bind the spirit of rebellion and stubbornness influencing children in the world. It will not come near my child now or ever. The chains of addictions or other negative habits will not hold him, but he will be free and live as a model of Christ everywhere he goes, in Jesus mighty name, Amen.”
